A CAT LADY SPEAKS

There's been much ado about childless cat ladies. Well, here's a fun take. No animals were hurt in the filming of this video by the way, nor were any real Emmy's stolen from Edie Falco's bathroom. But, as you can plainly see, Hugh Grant the cat is quite taken by the madcap hijinks. And here's the thing: women who love cats vote.

Which brings me to Samuel Beckett. One of my heroes, actor and clown extraordinaire, Bill Irwin, is a Beckett aficionado. He taught his audiences that beneath some of Beckett's bleak existentialism are some political truths; deep convictions about servants and masters and such. Power politics, big time. So what does this have to do with cats? Well, Mr. Irwin has shared that as it turns out, there's an Instagram account called @beckittns.

It features beautiful pictures of fetching felines paired with Beckett quotes.

That makes the famously incomprehensible Beckett just a little bit easier to comprehend, doesn't it?
